Ozone Oil
What is Ozone Oil?
Ozonated oil is created by bubbling pure ozone (medical grade oxygen) through oil for a period of time, causing the ozone molecule to bind to the fat content in the oil. This process stabilizes the ozone within the oil so that when applied to skin it has the purest ozinide concentration. Ozone has been used to treat drinking water in Europe since the 20th century and has been shown to be as effective as chlorine.

Because ozone therapy is recognized as one of the best bactericides, antivirals and antifungals, it has been used as a clinical therapeutic solution for post-surgical wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcers, chronic wounds, trophic ulcers, ischemic ulcers, diabetic wounds, psoriasis and athlete’s foot. Ozone therapy administered superficially to patients being treated for chronic septic complications and broad-spectrum antibiotic-resistance following trauma, surgery and secondary skin infections showed a decrease in the septic process and increased wound healing with a faster recovery time. Confirming the benefits of topical ozone therapy in the treatment of septic wounds. The oxygenation expedites healing and new cell growth, reduces microbial infection, enhances the debridement effect, decreases the inflammatory phase and stimulates angiogenesis (the formation and development of blood vessels) along with biological and enzymatic reactions that aid oxygen metabolism.
Studies have shown ozone oil fights against staphylococcus and E. coli.
Topical application of ozone oil to gingival graft sites showed significant improvement in healing compared to the control group who were not given ozonated oil. All of these patients were monitored days and even months after the procedure.
In one clinical trial therapeutic ozone was administered to patients with diabetic complications, such as diabetic feet. One set of patients received ozone therapy, the other set of patients were treated with antibiotics. The ozone therapy improved glycemic control and prevented oxidative stress. Ozone therapy proved to have superior healing of lesions which resulted in the reduced need for amputations.
In addition to accelerating the healing process, ozone oil reduced symptoms related to burns on the skin and prevented hyperpigmentation of healed lesions. Ozone therapy has proven over and over again to be an inexpensive therapeutic alternative whether administered topically through gaseous forms or injection.
